and a geek like me as well - bloody journal sites been crappily slow for me.

no egg yolks eh? I'm too much of a tight arse to throw them out. I'll have to buy Johns magic frozen egg white stuff then..

I know other nutrition gurus say it comes down to the quality of the egg, ie buy organic, free range, omega 3 enriched, and eat the whole egg.

Then again, I dont like eggs at all so need to work on that first.

Oh and I have to beat you in a metcon before I am allowed an opinion.... :D

watch it guys it makes reference to and acid I can't pronounce or spell!!!, but that acid and its interaction with insulin causing inflammation, and inflammation being a precursor to a mirriad of health problems. basicly it says to control the acid take fish oil and control insulin.

from previous reading the acid is found in egg yokes.

it is actually arachnoic acid (spellling) learned all this stuff in Physiology at uni and also organis chemistry. Kez your right. Eat green leafy veggies, fruit etc this will alter the acid/base ration of your blood stream giving you a more alkaline reading.
Give 100% or don't bother trying

Seems strange that egg yolks cop a bad rap... would have thought being a whole, natural food that it would be OK.. this is the common sense approach. I suppose to a certain extent that it is similr to the meat situation in that grain fed animals produce meats that are inferior to grass fed or wild game... But surely eggs are paleo? Paleo man would not have separated the yolk? He would have also been able to consume eggs from a vast array of animals i assume. Is it just chicken eggs that are bad? Is it the acid thats bad or the acid with the insulin? In which case the minimisation of excessive insulin to some extent negates the effect of the acid? For example scrambled eggs with spinach and broccoli is OK scrambled eggs with bread is bad.

Rob i remember you saying that Sears is not a fan of tomatoe's either because they are inflammatory. Is this the same acid. Again i have a hard time refusing foods that are whole and natural.

I see what your saying lawerence but I dont think paleo man would be eatting 6 or more eggs a day most days. 1 egg yoke is not going to kill you but continued comsumption might affect your performance. sears also promotes fish oil as a way to combat the acid.
