CrossFit Achievements

Postby Rob » Wed Jun 17, 2009 9:53 pm

This section of the forum I have dedicated to CrossFit achievements. Feel free to post your comments of your friends recent achievements. I thought it would be appropriate to have this somewhere as we are seeing constant improvements in everyones performance and people are doing things they never thought they could do. This can also be used to tick off some of your goals that Tom eluded to in his post "Why do we sweat?"

Since the rings have gone up we have seen many people attempting the muscle up. Adrian started a bit of a muscle up craze by posting his comments about the muscle up transition. Only a day or two after posting his comment Adrian pumped out his first muscle up. Sadly we did not get it on film but it wasn't a fluke he did another 2 and then again 2 days later. Great work. I know that there are a few jealous people out there!

Following on fromt he last post about Adrians muscle up surely Sean is in line for the next achievement. Sean catching the muscle up bug and being a determined trainer pumped out his first muscle up just 3 days ago. After doing his muscle up he jumped straight back on the rings and did 3 without letting go of the rings!!! HUGE effort. Well done. Who will be next for the muscle up??? Tom, Andy perhaps Kiara can be a first female to get up. She has been trying for a while and is so close!!! Keep trying!

Aside from all the muscle up achievements lately one person as been constantly trying to improve himself. I know everyone trys to improve but this guy has been doing workouts and then going for a 5km run after just for fun, I must say thanx to the crazy guys (John and Dan) who run with him to make sure he does not walk!

Bow started on the 9th of April which was his birthday. He could not dead hang on a bar and hold his own body weight, let alone a chin up. 2 weeks ago he did his first ever chin up. The day after his first chin up he did a workout constisting of 60 normal chin ups. I thought that was a big effort! Today he did 80 un assisted weighted chin ups. Yep weighted. Only 5kg of weight but in comparision to not being able to hang with your own body weight and grip the bar 3 months ago it is an outstanding effort! His video will up up soon!!!! Well done mate!!!

After the computer battery died last night I was thinking of more achievements that I have seen in the last few weeks. I'm sure as I thought longer I would come up with more so please feel free to write your own stuff here on any one else that I have not written down yet.

Sue has done great over the last few weeks which has turned into months. As she mentioned in the why do we sweat post I have nagged her forever to do some fitness stuff as she has held memberships at fitness first and C2K (castle Hill rsl gym) ad over maybe the last 5 years with those memberships she has gone probably 6-7 times. IN 5 YEARS. However since starting at CrossFit Norwest she has come no less than 3 times per week and sometimes 4 or 5 times a week! I'm glad she has stuck to it. Also the other week she deadlifted 50kg which is just under her bodyweight. I can say that she has NEVER EVER lifted a weight that large. She then the other day lifted 40kg deadlift 45 times. Great effort!

Congratulations to Brett Dobbie our new youngest member who completed his first group session tonight with his mate Peter! Awesome effort tonight Brett. Smashing out 10 minutes of burpees in a session is no mean feat! Well done. When you guys see Brett around the gym introduce yourself. He gives it a good go!!!

Faaaark - good one Sean! What about about John? I thought he posted a 160kg DL and he's only 75kg isnt he? Maybe I read it wrong..
