New Years Resolutions

Postby Lawrence.McDonell » Fri Dec 18, 2009 9:54 pm

Coming up to that time of year where a lot of people make a promise to themselves. In 1999 i vowed not to eat McDonalds for one year. At the end of one year it seemed so easy and the thought of it just kind of wasn't that appealing. So I haven't had it for 10 years. Being that New Years Eve is my birthday i have always been a fan of the New Years Resolution especially when it is something challenging. I have gone a whole year without any fast food at all. This was much harder more for social reasons... So this year i am looking for a challenge. I think it is going to have to be soft drink... yeh i drink a bit of Coke Zero here and there and while it has no sugar there is no doubt a whole host of other really bad stuff in it... as well as the known effects of carbonated drinks on bone density etc

Anyway as of January 1st there will be no soft drink for 2010. Hopefully after a year i will be able to put soft drink where McDonalds is... on the shelf for good.

What resolution are you going to make...? Put it in writing here so it can stare at you when you are thinking of bailing on your comittment. Make it specific... make it doable.

2009 was No chocolate for a year. Chocolate was my MAJOR weakness in diet, I used to eat terrible amounts of the stuff.

Anywho, that's almost done and I've decided next year that I will only have it on: easter day, My birthday, Christmas day. Anywho

2010 resolutions: No McDonalds, KFC, Hungry Jacks or hot chips.
Also, I was discussing all of these goals and plans with my girlfriend and being the intelligent girl that she is, said "Why don't you do something that helps other people as well". This makes a lot of sense to me so I want to do 100 hours of Community service next year.

Yeh nice work Tommy...No chips is a good easy one.. So i guess that means you will be living on Oporto's and Pizza? Hehehe. I also like the idea of the monthly challenge a different challenge for each month as i did with No caffeine or alcohol in November this year...but i will have to put more thought into what i might be able to do each month next year.

I'm not sure if these are resolutions but anyway - more like shit I just need to remember.

floss more
stretch more
swim more
read more

drink less coke zero
dont text and drive
stick to the speed limit

Train f*ckn hard!

Nope not good enough Adrian  The use of the word more is too general.... How often are you going to floss, stretch, swim and read... how much less coke zero you going to drink.... Make a real change this year... make it concrete and real. Coke Zero is my problem too hence No soft drink whatsoever... Fortune favours the brave.

I'm gonna give up:
McDonald's
KFC
Pizza

I don't them very often. But after eating KFC today...I felt soooo shit...so I've decided to give them up all together.
