Healthy Take Away foods

I'd be interested to know what people think is the healthiest take away or fast food option. I know that I do not often eat fast food but if I have to eat say chinese for instance then I order maybe some steamed or stir fired veggies with maybe a chicken and almond dish. I think the healthiest option maybe a sub way but I hate bread!! This comes after I made a phone call to some one and they told me to hold on as they ordered a big mac and a quarter with a coke. I then asked is that all for you and they replied YES. So what are the thoughts out there?

If I'm stuck for options I'll go for a classic chicken burger at Macca's.. Last time I got an extra fillet put on it to up the protein content, and try and get more even blocks.. :) should have gotten extra, extra mayo... not exactly paleo though.

there's a couple of good sandwich shops at rouse hill in the food court.

Sumo salad is a bit hexy for the amount of food you get but still tasty.

Unfortunately I have resorted to macca's a few times as not much is open at 2330 on a tuesday night. Always feel shit afterwards though. No real excuse though, I just need to plan better.

In rouse hill I go to the noodle box (or whatever it is called) and get them to just not put in noodles (costs extra of course).
Subway I am a fan of, and go the wrap option instead of bread. Can load it with roast chicken fillets (double meat) heaps of salad, a bit of peper for taste and you cant go wrong.
I think mccrap have salads but they dont have them late at night.

First time I ordered a sumo salad I didnt watch them put the dressing on it, and after eating it drowned in the stuff, I never went back.

Normally if I go to subway I'll just grab a 6 inch with double meat & plenty of salad but following Dan's example I think I'll start to get the wrap. I've got to do something to try and catch up to him right? I Had Sumo Salad yesterday, it was freaking fantastic (Thai Beef Salad) and due to a lack of foodstuffs at home I'll be having it again today though I may go for a different salad with double meat!

Sounds like a pretty sorted little meal there shane, though I can't believe that's a 5 block meal! I'm not sure I could hack zone, the portions seem so small!

im always on the road for my job and its hard to eat descent food when you dont have alot of time, but ive learned that the hardest part is making the right choices and sticking to it.

Instead of having a burger from maccas have a sandwich from your local take away shop they are everywhere! instead of a coke or energy drink have water or protein milk, my favourite sanga is multigrain bread with chicken, ham, cheese, tomato, avocado, onion, beetroot and bit of mayo.. tastes great.

i cut fast food and alot of sugar out of my diet and i lost nearly 7kg in a month just from making the right food choices and sticking to my training program.

Mix it up try new things and dont be lazy and give in to maccas or kfc etc just because its convenient and you will be surprised how much better you feel and you wont even want to eat that shit ever again... unless its 3am after a big night out your wasted and theres no other option! lol

That is great info Darren. I know you are always on the road and it is good that you still try to look after yourself. I am not on the orad as much as you but I am always away from home. I basically carry tupperware around with me everywhere!!! It takes almost 30 mins each nigh to prep food for the next day so I am organised for when I get up!!
