Have been a bit slack, but I think most people get an idea on what I eat, it doesnt change. I dont cheat, dont feel like cheating, dont really crave anything, knowing what I know now about what I used to crave for....

Anyway, some pics of some awesome meals I have had in the last few days.

Stuffed baked home made tomatoe (porkmince, tomato, onion) and salad.

The other one is a salad I just made, the pic of my hand is for an idea on size. It takes me about 10 mins to prep, 30minutes to eat it, the bowl is about 18cm high, its the sort of salad bowl you would feed a table full of people, and I just munch munch munch.
Home made tomatoes, chinese cabbage, lettuce (never iceberg) few capsicums, and a few carrots, with a piece of steak, the steak was way to small in size.

Drenched in both EVOO and Avocado oil.

AWESOME!!!

Had to post this little gem tonight.
Pork Hock and beautiful veges.
Its a knee joint, real old school woggy food, I remember my grandparents serving me this stuff.
And its all things paleo and awesome.
They are about $4 from Pendle Hill meat market, and a real good meal for me who eats like a pig. Realistically, 2 hocks feeds 2 people for 4 meals.
Pretty cheap.
Cooked in a slow cooker, these are the best bit of kit for a kitchen, my second favourite device, my food dehydrator is my fav, and allow you to take a cheap cut of meat and turn it into the most tender delicious meal. Real set and forget, do it in the morning and you have dinner cooked when you get home.

Remember, pig fat is 50% monounsaturated fat.

This weekend im going to have bacon for brekky, got a kilo of it on special for $3 from the same butcher mentioned above.

Awesome!

Re my veges tonight. Had Red cabbage tonight. Why is that important? Its red! Antioxidants! Colour = antioxidants.....And its delicious.

google up italian tree tomato.
My GF's grandmother, all 90 years of her, has been growing them better than I have, she doesnt even look after them. Hate her.
They are about 500 grams each.

Todays diet, pretty similar, except 3 black coffees today.

Dinner, remaining Pork from last night and a heap of leaves, spinach, chinese cabbage, red cabbage, and broccolini.
Drenched in EVOO and a squeeze of half a lime.

Why is lime good again?

Its a net base load on your system. It also tastes great.

Base is opposite to acid.
We want a net base load on our system because thats the way our body thrives, if we have a net acidic load (from shit processed food and to much meat, sugar etc) we get all sorts of problems, including bone issues and renal problems.

http://www.thepaleodiet.com/nutritional ... acid.shtml

Lime and lemon, even though they are "acidic" in terms of taste, actually produce a net base load in our systems, so are great news. They taste good and are good for us.

Beans.
Lectins are the issue here. An antinutrient, a mild toxin, a gut irritant. Contains protein sure, but any legume also has elevated levels of lectins and are thus, out of the paleo aproach.

Lectins are contained in elevated levels in grain, and at much smaller levels, in nightshade plants (eggplant, tomatos, capsicum).

This is why, those with autoimmune issues, are told to try the paleo diet with nightshade plants removed as well. Its becoming a powerful treatment for MS - arguably the worst kind of AI diseas.

Its probably safe to have the odd stringbean here and there, but wouldnt be having a lot of them, or regularly.

Just noticed in your question re kidney beans that you mention "low fat" like its a feature?

Low fat is not a feature in anything, except your partner.

High fat is best. Better energy, feel full, no insulin roller coaster, and nutritious.

Go checkout the low fat salad dressings in a supermarket, low fat, but 20% sugar.

Might as well snort cocaine.
