Kez goes off milk

Postby kez » Mon Mar 22, 2010 11:44 am

Starting today I’m giving up milk or more specifically lactose. After reading a recent article in the Motocycle Magazine (reliable source) on Casey Stoner and his struggles with fitness last year, it turns out that Casey is intolerant to lactose and he found it hard to push himself pass about 15mins of exertion. Once he changed his diet, about 3 weeks later he bounced straight back. As it turns out about 90% of the human population are allergic to lactose to some degree but the majority of us don't show any real symptoms! So I am going to give up milk in support of Casey and the hope that lactose is the only thing that is holding me back from being a champion motogp rider! :D here's hoping it don't turn into a weak, weedy looking chocko 8-)

Dont worry Kez, you wont turn into a weak, weedy looking chocco, you will more likely turn into me. Superior in every way!

If anyone else is interested in geeking out on specific reasons.

and

The first one describes some of the nasties that dairy induces, insulin responses being one.

The second describes why we dont need milk for calcium for our bones......a popular argument.

Kez, interesting.

Curious - where you being researching to stumble on Stoner / moto GP? You getting into riding?

Funnily enough, it was the US bike forums where i stumbled on crossfit...

Cheers
