Breakfast Protein Besides Eggs

Hi Guys,

Quick question. I love eggs, so now that I'm trying to get fit again and lose the gut I'm scoffing them down for breaky and a couple of hard boil ones for snacks during the day. Didn't realise how quickly I was going through them and didn't have any left for this morning....so I cooked a steak instead!!! Got a few disapproving looks from the wife. I was pretty happy at my "solution" though. Had Broccoli and steamed carrots with it.

Question is, what other protein options do people use for breakfast apart from eggs. I have bacon with my eggs which I know is not really approved but it's a choice I'm happy with for the time being.

Any suggestions would be great. Not that I plan on running out of eggs again any time soon.

Bacon
Protein Powder (if you're not Pale-o)
Steak
Chicken
Pork
Lamb
Prawns
Squid
Fish

If you don't want to cook it in the morning, cook it the night before and reheat it in the morning.
Do now what others don't,
So later on you will have what others won't.

And Tom didnt suggest my awesome breakfast meat patties why?

Mince, any mince, Pork/lamb/beef.
Dont get the good stuff, fatty is best.
Mix with a little almond meal as a binder, dont use bread crumbs.

Mixed herbs, pepper, crushed garlic to taste and voila.

Cook a few and your set for 3 or 4 days.

Bacon is fine, dont hate the bacon. Its a little processed due to stupid laws in Australia. I rinse mine in water before cooking to remove some of the crap, and take a few vitamin c tablets with it to counteract the preservatives (nitrites). More info here.

Thanks guys,

So basically, it's ok to eat steak for breakfast!!! Awesome.

Definitely going to try the breakfast mince patties too Dan, thanks for the recipe. And I don't hate bacon, I just thought all you blokes would. Just picked up another kilo after the 6.30 session tonight and 3 dozen eggs. Should keep me going for a day or two.
