Elimination diets can be an effective means of determining the potential for gluten sensitivity, but must be strictly adhered to for no less than 2-3 weeks and ideally at least 6-8 months to make a genuinely clear determination. Avoidance of gluten must be no less than 100% from all (even hidden sources) and not so much as even a single crumb of bread or trace contamination. Also, beware of cross contamination issues—where non-gluten foods may come into contact with gluten-containing foods via cooking/preparation surfaces and utensils in restaurants or at home (yes—this matters). The inflammatory effects of even trace gluten exposure in the brain especially and throughout the body can reverberate fully 6 months or more in sensitive individuals.

Shit tin of references in that blog post for you to go through.

Good work on reading the book. Dig the meal plan, re depression/moodiness, definitely look at getting more fat as nothing makes me grumpy like not having fat to munch on.

Thanks for the links will check them out.

80% of the way through the book and it did change the way I thought about things and TBH losing weight rapidly < not being a moody, depressed person so I'm into the basic 30 day. swapping my beers for norcal margaritas and adding back stuff like nuts in moderation.

Took me a while to get into some of the stuff but what's the deal with Potato - There is a sidebar that says maybe not but I was thinking of using them as a PWO carb as life is better with taters..sweet or otherwise?

Not sure if I am really auto-immune/inflammed but anything is possible so will prob limit but shit once you know out his sidebar stuff you are on a VERY basic diet.

No eggs,nuts/seeds,tomato, potato,everything else good :-)

eggs definitely in so yeah wtf?
Nuts watch over consumption for omega 6 issues but macadamias have no n-6 so wolf those fuckers down....

tomato if your concerned about nightshade plants and the effects on the GI tract.

I think your last post is a little hard to understand - "know out his sidebar"???

Sweet potato good to go, great as a PWO carb, low gi, very nutritious and tastes better. Normal potato is just starch and has no other nutrient value. Avoid them.

Yes apologies that that....sometimes I think I am dyslexic.

About midway through the book p201 he mentions that IF you have auto-immune/high pain/high inflammation you should avoid bloody nearly anything.

I am not concerned about any of his minutae shit - although I enjoyed reading his book I think it's a liitle too hyped up on auto-immune conditions (which makes sense as he has/had one)

eggs, nuts, nightshade, potato, eggplants, peppers - if you were interested in the actual list.

Since I'm tryong not to be a fatto anyway it's 1 piece of fruit and max 30g of nuts (usually macas as they are the shit) so the rest is just the basics, veges and steak/chicken/pork...repeat indefinately.
