Top dog games penrith

Postby Dazza jackson » Mon Dec 13, 2010 6:42 pm

Yesterday penrith had their top dog games day a small group from norwest headed out to do battle in the ridiculous heat i swear it felt like it was 30* by 10am
There was individuals and team events the individuals were cam, richo, bowsie, peter the mountain eater and in the team was maddy, corrine,al and myself.
The day consisted of 3 wods if anyone wants to post what the wods were feel free i cant remember what the individuals were.
congrats to cam on taking out a well earned 3rd place overall, cam put in a solid effort as usual winning a few of his heats and fighting hard to come in second in wod 2 by one second! well done mate.
congrats to peter the mountain eater for competing in his first comp at the young age of ?? fifty something? peter did very well and was very consistant and didnt break many reps witch earnt him a spot in the final wod in the masters division i think he ended up 5/6th? also something i noticed when pete was in the last wod his mouth was really dry but didnt want to stop to have a drink and waste time! his mouth was that dry he was making me thirsty! well done pete i hope we see you at gosford in Jan.
Richo and bowsie stepped up their games earning respectable places in their divisions in only their second comp and i saw in one wod richo taking second place in his heat
well done boys!
The team event drew some attention with some fierce competition with the likes of jason haywood in the mix and a handfull of other top gun males and hardcore females in some of the teams it was not going to be an easy task to get on the podium, the team wods were:
wod 1
17min time limit
400m sprint relay
20 ground to o/head each 40/30kg
team 400m run
reamaining time to perform max reps of thrusters 40/30kg (cannot drop the bar)
wod 2
3 rounds
team of 2 tyre press 5 reps then o/head tyre carry to the girls for them to flip tyres back while we run 200m
wod 3
chipper
200 one arm kb snatch 24/20kg
200 burpees
200 box jumps
team mate carry 200m
Im not sure what the final results were i think we came 5/6th? with body m in first place, parramatta in second and active in 3rd.
also i would like to appologise to maddy she got a tyre sandwich in the face and i didnt realise until the end of the wod, it didnt phase her she didnt even give us a mouthfull or complain so thanks to madz, corrine and al for being awsome team mates i thought we did really well and i had alot of fun even in the blistering heat.
also thanks to everyone that came out to support us in the heat i think gill got some good pics that im sure will be posted shortly.

Strength is more than just the number of plates on the bar. It is everything that is overcome with each lift
