Power Athletes on the Gold Coast: Rack Pulls
RAW IS DEDICATED TO TRAINING AND PROGRAMMING ADVANCED POWER AND STRENGTH ATHLETES.
Rack pulls are a strength-building exercise that targets the posterior chain muscles responsible for back and hip extension.
Training rack pulls allows you to develop your ability to achieve a strong lock out in deadlifts. The key to rack pulls is to ensure you start with the barbell just below knee height and ensure your lower back does not become rounded at any point during the movement. Since deadlifts are going to have you picking up the weight all the way from the floor while rack pulls only have you lifting the weight from a raised position, there is less of a range of movement the back will have to go through, thus less chance of injury.
