RAW STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING: TRAINING AND PROGRAMMING ON THE GOLD COAST
Participating in strongman training will bring fun, variation and a new dimension to our training, it’s sure to benefit our strength, endurance, power and even mental toughness. The beauty of strongman training is how unorthodox it is, it’s not about being the biggest guy, there is no specific technique or set of rules in performing an exercise, no set number of events, it is about pure strength, strategy and the MENTAL CHALLENGE. Strongman training is for everybody! Regardless of strength and size adding strongman training to your current program WILL increase your functional strength.
Some of the strongman equipment you might find at RAW on the Gold Coast is all functional strength training equipment- atlas stones, our biggest being 146kg, tyres, farmers carry, sleds, the log, prowler and yoke. These pieces of equipment form the bread and butter of any strongman event; tyre flips, sled drags, stone lifts, farmers carry, yoke carry, deadlift variations, and overhead presses.
